Reigntime by S.K. Levy

Dear Sam,

Thank you for sharing this story from inside you with the great wide world! I can't wait to read more!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello, friends! Thanks for hitting up my blog again to check out my review of Reigntime by SK Levy. Can I start out by saying I desperately need to pre-order book 2? Yes? Okay. Let's go!

Who else is in love with this cover??

1. Characters: I think the main characters have a really unique dynamic, and I like Lexie- the female protagonist. She's strong and smart. 💗 Her best friend, Jamie, is a great side character, and I hope he's in book 2 more! I also really hope we see more of the mysterious Karmi in the sequel.

2. Setting: This story takes place in Australia which has all sorts of fun implications! The language, the land, even the food mentioned, is all a feast for the reader's imagination (particularly this reader, who has dreamed of traveling to Aus but hasn't made it there yet). The first half of this book is set primarily in a hospital, which definitely gave me the Grey's Anatomy vibes (in a good way). The second half... well I don't want to ruin anything for future readers...😉

3. Author's Writing Style: Sam's style was beautiful. Her descriptions were detailed enough to immerse me in the story but not so much that I wanted to skim over them (we've all read something overly descriptive and know how that can be!). The dialogue for the characters flowed well and helped move the story along at a nice pace. I will definitely read the sequel and would give any of Sam's other future work a shot as well.

4. Overall Rating: 4 Stars! This was an excellent start to what will be a very original series, and it definitely left me wanting more at the end. I recommend it!

5. Similar Reading: This was hard! I could see similarities at various times to other novels/series, but overall it didn't make me say "Oh, this is just like that!" So, it's hard to decide what to recommend after reading this. I think these are a good start, though. Click the covers to visit each respective Goodreads page. Enjoy!

BOOK TOUR! The Weaver's Daughter by Sarah E. Ladd

Huge thank-you to TLC Book Tours for sending me a copy of The Weaver's Daughter by Sarah E. Ladd. I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but I've read other works by Ms. Ladd, and she has a wonderful talent! I love her characters! Synopsis: Kate's loyalties bind her to the past. Henry's loyalties compel him to strive for a better future. In a landscape torn between tradition and vision, can two souls find the strength to overcome their preconceptions? Loyalty has been at the heart of the Dearborne family for as long as Kate can remember, but a war is brewing in their small village, one that has the power to rip families asunder--including her own. As misguided actions are brought to light, she learns how deep her father's pride and bitterness run, and she begins to wonder if her loyalty is well-placed. Henry Stockton, heir to the Stockton fortune, returns home from three years at war seeking refuge from his haunting memories. Determined to bury the pa

Monday Madness!

Ahoy there! 💦 (No idea why I felt like greeting you that way... But I did.) I just had to gush on two particular things today: 1. My Shelfie 2. My Shop Item #1 on the agenda: The shelfie I posted yesterday! Click the image to visit my bookstagram! I gotta admit.. I really  like the way my shelves look right now. Unfortunately, in order to showcase some of my favorite covers of the moment, I had to hide about half of my books behind  other books. Which is kind of fun because next time I rearrange my bookcase and take them all out, I will have undoubtedly forgotten about many of them and it'll be like re-discovering lost treasure. 😂However, it also means I simple don't get to enjoy the visibility of about half my books. 😔 Sad times. At this point, nearly every single little cubby has books behind books. So, I mean, I can't just keep doing that forever. Eventually, I will need to get a new bookshelf to add to my bookcase. The problem is, I really want a whi
