Fracture Me (Shatter Me #2.5) by Tahereh Mafi

Short and sweet, here we go...

I gotta admit, this was a tough read for me. I honestly would have skipped it if I hadn't gotten the heads-up from Caryn (Check her out on booksta @iam.caryn!) about how crucial this little novella was to the plot. It explained some things going on behind the scenes toward the end of book 2. Since the series itself is told only from Juliette's POV, this story tapped into Adam's mind and shared what was going on with him in the final chapters of Unravel Me.

1. Characters: I'm not Adam's biggest fan (or his fan at all, to be honest), but I can see the value in reading a few scenes from his POV. Seeing into his mind helped me understand his character and motivation better. It was a little weird to read a Shatter Me installment that wasn't really centered around Juliette, but like I said, it was important to the plot to understand what's going on with different characters.

2. Story: No spoilers here! If you've read books 1 and 2 (and Warner's novella!), be sure to check this one out before moving on to book 3. I'm glad I did.

3. Author's Writing Style: I'm so impressed with Tahereh Mafi! This is the third different character's POV she's written and each were completely unique and distinct from one another. It's crazy. In my opinion, not many authors can pull that off truly well. Which is a shame because I love reading POV changes!

4. Overall Rating: 3/5 Stars. Unfortunately, this is my least favorite installment in the Shatter Me series. Thankfully, it was only 60 pages, and I don't feel like it was a waste of time at all. My issue is just that it followed Adam, and he's my least favorite character.

5. Similar Reading: Don't miss the first two full-length novels and Warner's novella! Check out this series' page on Goodreads and add them all to your tbr shelf!

HAPPY RELEASE DAY, LILAC LANE!!

It's here, it's here! You guys, Lilac Lane is finally released and available for purchase! You may have seen my post about it on bookstagram earlier, but in case you missed it, here's the beauty in all its soft purple glory! 😍 What a catch. I am  so  thankful to have received a copy in advance. Although I have yet to start  watching  Chesapeake Shores on Hallmark Channel (it's the very next show on my list!), I was able to appreciate the beauty of this novel. I truly believe it can be enjoyed whether you've read all the Chesapeake Shores books or this is the first you pick up! Synopsis: Single mom Kiera Malone struggled for years to raise her three children in a small town on the coast of Ireland. Just when she’s let down her guard and allowed herself to love again, her fiancé suffers a fatal heart attack and leaves her alone yet again. Overwhelmed by her loss, she’s persuaded to visit her father, Dillon O’Malley, and her daughter, Moira O’Brien, i...

Monday Madness!

Ahoy there! 💦 (No idea why I felt like greeting you that way... But I did.) I just had to gush on two particular things today: 1. My Shelfie 2. My Shop Item #1 on the agenda: The shelfie I posted yesterday! Click the image to visit my bookstagram! I gotta admit.. I really  like the way my shelves look right now. Unfortunately, in order to showcase some of my favorite covers of the moment, I had to hide about half of my books behind  other books. Which is kind of fun because next time I rearrange my bookcase and take them all out, I will have undoubtedly forgotten about many of them and it'll be like re-discovering lost treasure. 😂However, it also means I simple don't get to enjoy the visibility of about half my books. 😔 Sad times. At this point, nearly every single little cubby has books behind books. So, I mean, I can't just keep doing that forever. Eventually, I will need to get a new bookshelf to add to my bookcase. The problem is, I really want a whi...

I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but I've read other works by Ms. Ladd, and she has a wonderful talent! I love her characters! Synopsis: Kate's loyalties bind her to the past. Henry's loyalties compel him to strive for a better future. In a landscape torn between tradition and vision, can two souls find the strength to overcome their preconceptions?
