1. Characters: I enjoy the variety of characters in this series so far, but I really hope the protagonist and her love interest get developed more in the rest of the series.

2. Story: This book very unique. Without spoiling any key points, I will say it definitely switched gears from the previous book and was unpredictable in a way that many YA fantasy novels/series aren't (at least in my opinion).

3. Author's writing style: I really like the author's writing style. I feel like she captures a realistic teen voice and the narration (first person POV) flows well throughout both the first and second books so far. I wouldn't mind seeing a POV change, but I think that's just because I've grown accustomed to it since it seems to happen more frequently in recent YA releases.

4. Overall rating: 4 stars  If you've visited my Rating and Review System page, you know that 4 stars means I really liked it, but may or may not reread in the future. Honestly, I would say I probably will not reread this series unless the characters get much deeper and well-developed, but I am really glad I have picked it up now and will continue seeing where the series goes!

5. Similar reading: I would recommend this book/series to fans of
