*Shadowland* (The Immortals #3) by Alyson Noel

First, again, I have to say the covers in this series are just beautiful. I think thus far my favorite has been Blue Moon's cover, though. (Check out the cover and my review of Blue Moon here.)

Here we go!

1. Characters: As I had hoped, the love interest between the two main characters developed more in this book! Though I now have a least favorite character (more annoying than anything), a new character was introduced who I'm very excited about. I can't wait to see how relationships evolve throughout the rest of the series!

2. Story: The story just keeps getting better and better (and darker and darker). There have been a few significant turns taken that I did not expect, which I love. I think that with each book this series just improves, becomes more interesting and more intricate. You also discover just how connected everything/everyone is in a way that reminds me very much of Vampire Diaries.

3. Author's writing style:  I would still really like to see a shift in the POV, but not because I don't like the main character. I would like to shift so that I can see what's happening in other areas of the story and with other characters, particularly those that are mysterious- although I suppose they wouldn't be so mysterious if the reader could see from their POV. I enjoy the overall writing style and the short chapters in this book. I feel like breaking up the story into smaller chapters, in this case, allows it to move faster.

4. Overall rating: 4 stars  If you've visited my Rating and Review System page, you know that 4 stars means I really liked it, but may or may not reread in the future. After reading Blue Moon I was uncertain whether I would ever reread this series, but after reading Shadowland I think the chances are increasing. I'm getting more attached to the characters, and I really like the mystery building throughout the series. I can honestly say there have been a couple of twists I wasn't expecting, and I truly don't know where the series is headed! I wish I didn't have to wait 2 more days for book #4 (Dark Flame) to make it here from Amazon. I would absolutely recommend the series at this point.

5. Similar reading: I would recommend this book/series to fans of

Monday Madness!

Ahoy there! 💦 (No idea why I felt like greeting you that way... But I did.) I just had to gush on two particular things today: 1. My Shelfie 2. My Shop Item #1 on the agenda: The shelfie I posted yesterday! Click the image to visit my bookstagram! I gotta admit.. I really  like the way my shelves look right now. Unfortunately, in order to showcase some of my favorite covers of the moment, I had to hide about half of my books behind  other books. Which is kind of fun because next time I rearrange my bookcase and take them all out, I will have undoubtedly forgotten about many of them and it'll be like re-discovering lost treasure. 😂However, it also means I simple don't get to enjoy the visibility of about half my books. 😔 Sad times. At this point, nearly every single little cubby has books behind books. So, I mean, I can't just keep doing that forever. Eventually, I will need to get a new bookshelf to add to my bookcase. The problem is, I really want a whi
